Looking for something fun and unique to watch? Join us for the inaugural Battle of the Badges on Friday, August 2, 2024, in Bradford, PA!
This annual charity softball game pits members of Bradford area’s Fire Departments against members of the Police Departments in a friendly competition. It’s our chance to give back to the community in a meaningful way while providing a fun, family-friendly evening of entertainment.
On any given day, residents of McKean County see uniformed police officers and firefighters working tirelessly to keep the community safe. Typically, interactions with first responders occur during emergencies or crises. This charity softball game offers the public an opportunity to interact with us in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. It’s a fantastic way to build relationships and strengthen the bonds between police, firefighters, and the community.
On Friday, August 2nd, their work uniforms and equipment will be swapped for sports attire, bats, and gloves as Bradford area’s Police and Fire departments face off in this exciting charity softball game. While the softball action will be thrilling, the playful banter between teams promises to be just as entertaining.
The first pitch is at 6:00 p.m. at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Softball Field. Admission is free, and everyone is invited to come and watch their local heroes compete in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Concessions and raffle prizes will be available.
This year, proceeds will benefit the Bradford Regional Little League, and an optional canned goods donation for admission will support the Salvation Army Bradford Corps.
